Save Today

Well today has been a long tough day. I found out some stuff and I did not get much sleep last night so I have been running on fumes since this afternoon. All I can say about some of the stuff I have dealt with today is that God gives and he takes but we will still bless his name no matter what. He is with us when everything is rough and he will comfort us. He takes the ones we care about and he gives them peace in heaven. He will take care of all our worries and he makes all things new. You know we learn so much through our trials. God speaks to us in weird ways but we have to keep our eyes open because it will probably happen when we least expect it. When we have no control over the outcome, we just have to trust God and have faith that what he has done is the best for everyone involved and know that he will take care of us. Sometimes it is hard to accept God's plan and his timing but we cannot change what He has done. We can only live for today because it is all we have because tomorrow is never guaranteed. Do not wait to give yourself up to God because you never know when you will take your last breath. I know that I dwell to much on the future and it is sort of bad. Sure I sure I should have a plan and an idea but I should not be too concerned with it because God's timing will take course and I will be okay.

Along the lines of living for him today, Joshua 24:15 states, "But if it doesn't please you to worship the Lord, choose for yourselves today the one you will worship: the gods your fathers worshiped beyond the Euphrates River, or the gods of the Amorites whose land you are living." Lucky for us we have a loving God who understands we are human and sometimes it takes time for things to get through our thick skulls but He also wants us to give him as much as possible and He wishes some of us would do more, or nothing at all. This verse is telling the Israelites to make a choice as to who they want to serve because God is no longer interested in them being dissatisfied with him. Everyday we go through our routine saying that we will get around to devotions but we tend to procrastinate and either put it off until the end (myself included) or we just push it to tomorrow because we feel that we are just too busy and do not have time. I can sit and watch 2 or 3 movies in a day but I cannot spend an hour with God and really connect with him because I simply "do not have enough time in my day and tomorrow will be different." But as I said before, tomorrow is not guaranteed and I think it is best summed up in the words of a song, they simply state, "Save today, for tomorrow will soon be today." If I were just to savor every moment of today, there would never be worry about tomorrow and everyday would be a great day. Sure there are going to be down days every once in awhile but make the most of it and live life.

2nd Corinthians 6:2 states, "For he says, 'In the time of favor I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.' I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation." Do not hold back any longer my friends, as I have stated a few times, we need to turn our hearts to him. I have not really said it other than in the title of my blog but, Salvation is Here! There is always a way out and God is the provider of that way, he is the way, the truth and the life. Let us seek him and seek life not only today but for eternity.

Questions to ponder, "1. Do you need a fresh start? A new beginning?, 2. What habits do you need to bring to the cross in order to grow closer to God?, 3. How can you live a life of worship to God---today?" These are all good questions and if you have answers that you want to post for all to read, do not be afraid. No one is going to criticize you and others may be struggling with stuff you are, this is an open forum for my friends to connect, I know I have not portrayed it like that but it is a growing experience for all of us, not just me.

Hope you all had a great day and for those that did not, keep holding on because you will pull through! Thursday is tomorrow, but let us worry about tomorrow when today becomes tomorrow.

God Bless,
Joseph Robinson
